2025-2026 Election
Nominations are now open for the 2025-2026 leadership positions at the 9th District Dental Society! If you know someone whose expertise and values would make a meaningful contribution to our leadership, or if you’re personally interested in serving in a leadership role, we encourage you to submit a Leadership Application.
Service on the Board of Directors, Elected Committees, or as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate to the TDA House of Delegates is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on our society and its members. Nominations are welcomed from and on behalf of 9th District Dental Society members interested in volunteer leadership positions.
The following positions are to be elected and will begin service on June 1, 2025:

One-Year Term
- President-Elect (ascends to President and Immediate Past President positions)
- Secretary-Treasurer
- 1st Vice President
- 2nd Vice President
- Editor
Two-Year Terms
- Director (3 positions available)
Elected Committees
- Nominating Committee Member – (4-year term ascends to Chair position)
- Judicial Committee Chair – (One-Year Term, prior experience preferred)
- Judicial Committee Member – (Three-Year Term, 3 positions available, training required)
- Peer Review Committee Chair – (One-Year Term, prior experience preferred)
- Peer Review Committee Member – (Three-Year Term, various regional and specialty positions, training required)
Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the TDA House of Delegates
The term for Delegates and Alternate Delegates is one year following election. Those elected this year will serve at the TDA House of Delegates in May 2026.

Leadership Opportunities
Each year, the 9th District Dental Society issues its Annual Call for Nominations, providing members with the opportunity to express interest, nominate others, and vie for leadership positions. Available leadership opportunities include roles on the Board of Directors, Elected Committees, and as Delegates or Alternate Delegates to the TDA House of Delegates.
Interested candidates submit their applications through our system, and all nominations are reviewed by the Nominating Committee. The Committee develops the official slate of nominees, which is then presented for a vote by the membership.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the Society’s operations, guided by the Constitution and Bylaws. Comprising 13 members, including seven Officers and six Directors, the Board provides strategic leadership and ensures the Society’s success. Board members also serve as liaisons to various committees.
Nominating Committee
This elected committee, consisting of the President, Immediate Past-President, President-elect, and four members elected by the membership, is responsible for nominating candidates for leadership roles. The Committee evaluates the performance of current leaders, reviews member feedback, and ensures that only the best candidates are considered for leadership positions.
Judicial Committee
This committee educates members on the ADA/TDA Principles of Ethics and serves as an avenue for self-governance by investigating potential ethical violations. Members must undergo training to serve on this committee, ensuring that the highest standards are upheld.
Peer Review Committee
The Peer Review Committee mediates disputes between dentists and patients, focusing on the quality of care. Members also receive training to ensure they are prepared to evaluate cases objectively and fairly.
Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the TDA House of Delegates
Delegates represent the 9th District Dental Society at the Texas Dental Association House of Delegates, attending all meetings and voting on key issues. Alternates serve when Delegates are unavailable.
